Amy qualified at The University of Birmingham in 2007 with a BSc in Dental Hygiene & Therapy.
She is a passionate and highly motivated hygienist; driven by a desire to deliver the absolute highest standards of clinical care to her patients. This is evident in her enthusiastic approach, not only in the treatment she provides, but also her determination to absorb the latest clinical information, techniques and practices – regularly attending conferences and seminars.
Amy understands that an appointment with the dentist may be a daunting prospect for some, and with that in mind, aims to make each patient’s visit as pleasant and relaxed an experience as possible, utilising relaxation techniques and taking the time to thoroughly explain each part of the treatment process; a skill set that came to the fore in a previous clinic – treating anxious patients and people with special needs.
Amy has had the privilege of working under Professor Iain Chapple (A leading specialist in Periodontology, Head of Periodontology, head of Birmingham University’s School of Dentistry and Director of Research). This prestigious position gave her invaluable experience working in the field of Periodontal research and treatment.
She now enjoys working closely with Andrew our in-house Consultant and Specialist in Periodontics to optimise oral health for our patients.
As a Dental Therapist, Amy is also able to carry out fillings, paediatric extractions and cosmetic whitening treatments. She prides herself on a focussed attention to detail and strives to produce ‘the perfect finish’.
Amy thoroughly enjoys being a member of the Lovat House team – each of whom play an integral role in the restoration of our patient’s dental health.
Please contact the practice as soon as possible.
Registered patients will usually be offered an appointment on the same day, if the practice is open.
We will try to accommodate new patients, but priority is always given to our existing registered patients.
During weekends and bank holidays, when the practice is closed an emergency contact number is available on the practice answering machine. This service is available to registered patients only. The on call dentist will be able to offer advice. If the practice needs to be opened for out of hours treatment a £150 call out charge may be incurred as well as charges for any treatment carried out.
